It seems Woody Harrelson almost did not make it on "Solo," as the actor's family nearly convinced him not to join the movie set. Apparently, his family was not so keen on him accepting the character.

He revealed, "I brought it up to my family -- they didn't want me doing it. They wanted me to come home, and understandably. I did turn it down."

However, fans will be glad to know that Harrelson eventually ended up returning to set. He added, "Then I did end up doing it. And I'm glad, because the friendships I've formed now [on the movie], I can't imagine not knowing these guys."

Harrelson was apparently having inner conflicts on which aspect of his life to prioritize, but he ultimately ended up choosing the movie, unregrettably so. He did not specify why exactly his family wanted him to spend more time with them instead of the movie, as well as what made him change his mind when he decided to come back on set.

Rest assured, the 56-year-old actor is now apparently happy with his newfound friends on the production of "Solo." Hopefully, his family is happy with his decision.

It can also be recalled that Harrelson did the same with the "Hunger Games" trilogy. The actor turned the role down initially before deciding to come back and fulfill it.

"Solo: A Star Wars Story" is a prequel to the famous "Star Wars" franchise that chronicles the life of the space scoundrel Han Solo before he meets Luke Skywalker and old Obi-Wan Kenobi. Harrelson will be playing the role of Beckett, Solo's mentor, and given Harrelson's affinity for mentor roles, as seen on his "Hunger Games" trilogy performance, he has more than proven that he is worthy of the part.

Not much has been revealed about the role Harrelson will be playing, only that Beckett, like Solo, will also be a criminal and that he will have a large part in his upbringing, perhaps even teaching the "Star Wars" hero everything he knows.

"Solo: A Star Wars Story" is set to be released on May 25, 2018 on theaters worldwide.
