On Oct. 3, Sony Interactive Entertainment finally released the latest update for PlayStation 4 (PS4). Nicknamed "Nobunaga," this update is labeled 5.00 and is mandatory for all players of the console.

According to Sony, this update is going to be a major one, as it features a lot of changes and tweaks to further improve and enhance the performance of the PS4. Since it is mandatory, players just have to turn on their consoles and the update will start automatically. Update "Nobunaga" also requires 347.4 megabytes of players' bandwidth.

One of the major changes in the latest update is the ability to follow any user. Before, players can only follow users with verified accounts, but now, anyone can follow any user they like whether they are friends with them or not. This ability, of course, is still subject to the privacy settings of the user.

The Parental Control features of PlayStation Network is also improved, replacing the former Master/Sub-account system. Parents can set either one of them as the Family Manager, and they can appoint who in their family is the Guardian, Adult, or Child. This update also allows parents to have control over their children's access in "use of online features and communication with other players, set restrictions for games, restrict the use of the internet browser, and set spending limits for PlayStation Store."

The 5.00 update will also see the new "Team Tournaments" feature, although it will officially kick off on Oct. 5. "The initial batch of titles supporting Team Tournaments will be Uncharted 4: A Thief's End, Uncharted: The Lost Legacy, World of Tanks and Mantis Burn Racing, with more on the way," read the official update announcement. "Head over to the Events section on your PS4 to check out details for different Events and Tournaments, and to start creating your team."

The update adds, "You can join or own up to a maximum of 60 different teams, and each team will have an owner and captain(s) who can manage the team. Only teams will be able to register for official Team Tournaments. Your team will have its own customizable team page where you can see team member information, and view upcoming and ongoing events that your team is currently registered for and competing in."
