Sony to announce reduced price for PlayStation 4 soon?

Ps4 sales are predicted to reach 80 million units by 2019.Playstation.com

Sony did bare that they may be announcing some price cuts for the Playstation 4 (PS4) game console, although such have yet to happen.

The price reduction was announced at the Tokyo Game Show and will reportedly cover the Japanese market. Even though there is no official word yet on the said price cuts, it is believed that the PS4's retail price could be slashed by as much as $50.

If this holds true, the new SRP for the PS4 would roughly cost about $349.99. With the big price reduction, such should give Sony's rival game console makers something to think about.

Among them possibly include Microsoft, which seems to have failed to win the attention of gamers at $349.99 for Xbox One console (1 TB). So, if Microsoft endured barely subtle popularity from such, one can just imagine how a similar suggested retail price (SRP) could put a damper on their planned sales forecasts.

Regardless, Sony has yet to make it official so it may be a bit too early to speculate on how such a price cut would tilt the gaming console niche. But if ever the price-cuts would be announced, the best bet is perhaps for it to happen either before Black Friday or Cyber Monday.

Could Microsoft end up slashing their prices as well? Well, if Sony makes that slash, there is a chance that they could. If so, could it improve their sales a bit?

The price wars are expected to play a factor and will most likely take place on the two special sale dates. And once that time comes, the winners will obviously be the consumers, particularly the one who have been wary of getting one due to the prices.

So, assuming the slash in prices does take place by then, the new problem is which to buy? Would you go for a Sony PS4 or a Microsoft Xbox One?

A good answer could perhaps be on the available games on the game consoles which is, apparently, another factor for consumers to consider.
