Sony Xperia M3 to release at MWC 2015 with boosted specs

Sony Xperia M2 successor release at MWC?Sony Mobile

Consumers may see a new mid-range Sony Xperia smartphone at the Mobile World Congress in March. This smartphone is dubbed as Sony Xperia M3, rumored to be the successor of Xperia M2, which was released in last year's MWC event.

A mysterious Sony smartphone appeared at GFXBench, which listed some of the device's specs and features. According to the listing, the Xperia M3 features a 4.6-inch screen display with qHD (540 x 960 pixels) resolution. It is powered by a quad-core MediaTek MT6752 processor clocked at 1.5 GHz and Malti-T760 graphics processor paired with 1 GB of RAM. The smartphone comes with 8 GB internal storage. The alleged Xperia M3 runs with Android 4.4.4 KitKat OS. For its cameras, the handset has a 5-megapixel shooter at the back and a 2-megapixel selfie shooter. It has WiFi and Bluetooth connectivity options.

While the Xperia M3 is purported to be announced at the MWC, Sony is reportedly taking its time with its upcoming flagship smartphone, the Xperia Z4, which will reportedly be launched in summer. It is speculated that the delay in its release is to extend the stay of the Xperia Z3 in the limelight that was announced in September.

The Sony Xperia Z4 is rumored to feature a 5.5-inch screen display with quad HD pixel resolution, Snapdragon 810 SoC, Adreno 420, 4 GB of RAM, Android 5.0 Lollipop OS, 24-megapixel back camera with dual LED flash and 12-megapixel front facing camera. It will most likely pack features such as PlayStation Remote Play and IP68 certification for water and dust resistance.

In addition, there are rumors that Sony will sell its mobile arm, making the division think of its moves carefully and put emphasis on the quality of smartphones rather than the quantity.
