Sony Xperia Z2 receives Android 5.0.2 Lollipop update after Xperia Z3

After Sony Mobile started rolling out the Android 5.0.2 Lollipop update for its current flagship devices, the Sony Xperia Z3 and Xperia Z3 Compact, the mobile manufacturing brand immediately followed up with the release of Google's mobile operating system update for the Xperia Z2. 

The XperiaBlog confirmed that the Android 5.0.2 Lollipop is already available for the Xperia Z (D6503) in the Nordic and the Baltic regions, including countries like Finland, Iceland, Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Latvia and Estonia, through Over The Air download. 

Earlier, the Japanese mobile brand manufacturer announced that they will bring the latest Android update to all the devices under its Sony Xperia product line, which includes the Sony Xperia Z3, the Sony Xperia Z3 Tablet, the Sony Zperia Z2 and Z2 Tablet, the Sony Xperia Z1, Xperia Z, Xperia ZL, Xperia ZR, as well as the Xperia Tablet Z. It seems that the brand started the update with its newest flagship products first before the rest of the Xperia Z line follows. 

IB Times India reported that the new Android mobile operating system will bring in a new design language called Material Design for the Sony Xperia Z devices. It comes with a new interactive user interface, brand new animation graphics, brand new TouchWiz UI features, more options for lock-screen notifications, and an improved interface Also, the Dalvik will be replaced with ART to become its new default runtime to help bring improvements in the device's performance and battery life. 

Meanwhile, Sony Mobile's next-generation flagship phone, dubbed as the Sony Xperia Z4, is also expected to be released with the Android Lollipop straight out of the box. Expected to be announced during the IFA 2015, it will reportedly come with a 5.5-inch Quad HD screen with thinner metal frame, a 2.8 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 octa-core processor, 4 GB of RAM as well as an Adreno 430 graphics card under the hood.
