After the long wait, Sony Xperia Z3 owners will finally get their hands on the latest Android 5.0 Lollipop update next week. Both Sony Mobile Indonesia and Sony Mobile France announced that the rollout of Android 5.0 for the company's flagship smartphone will finally happen in the coming week, and it will come with added features like the lock screen notifications as well as the capacity to download and install apps in the device's SD card. 

Techradar also reported that the two arms of Sony Mobile shared that the flagship device will have the Material Design, which is the latest look that Google introduced when Android 5.0 Lollipop was unveiled last year. But since the Japanese mobile phone manufacturer develops its own custom interfaces, users can expect the company to combine some of the signature elements of Google's Material Design into the usual interface of the Xperia Z3. 

Based on Sony Mobile Indonesia's Facebook announcement, the Android 5.0 Lollipop update will come to the Xperia Z line during the 12th week of the year, which means that it will begin on March 16 onwards. Sony Xperia Z3 owners can get the software update via the exclusive Update Centre. 

On the other hand, Android Community posted that Sony India also shared a Software Updates Release Schedule that shows the status of the release of Android 5.0 Lollipop for Sony Xperia Z3, Sony Xperia Z3 Compact, and Sony Xperia Z2. However, the website also mentioned that the Android 5.0 Lollipop will only be offered to the Sony Xperia Z line, and not to the entire Xperia product line.

Meanwhile, USwitch reported that the highly anticipated Sony Xperia Z4 will be coming out in September, one year after its predecessor was released. The fourth-generation flagship device from Sony Mobile reportedly comes with a Snapdragon 810 processor, and it will run using the Android 5.0 Lollipop straight from the box.
