Will the highly anticipated Sony Xperia Z4 actually see the light anytime soon? 

Smartphone users who are looking forward to the release of Sony's latest flagship phone during the upcoming Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, Spain this March might get disappointed, since new speculations claim that the Japanese electronics brand might release a mid-range Xperia phone instead. 

Recent rumors are suggesting that Sony will release the Xperia E4 device during this year's MWC event, and it will be the company's first smartphone release for 2015. XperiaBlog also mentioned that Sony Mobile will not launch a formal press conference during the event, and they will not stage a live stream ether, unlike what the company did in the previous years. Sony will instead present a welcome greeting to open the company's booth for the press people who will attend the MWC on March 2. 

It means that finding the Xperia Z4 during the event will be impossible if this news turns out to be accurate. 

On the other hand, reports are now claiming that the Xperia Z4 will come out in summer this year. However, there are no guarantees that these claims are verified by the company. 

The Sony Xperia Z4 is expected to feature better specs than those of its predecessor, the Xperia Z3. Allegedly, the device will be released with a 5.2-inch Triluminous display equipped with a Snapdragon 810 processor, 32 GB internal memory and 4 GB RAM, as well as a 20.7-megapixel primary shooter with a 4.8-megapixel front-facing secondary camera. The device is also expected to run using the latest Android 5.0 Lollipop operating system. 

Early this month, Primate Labs posted the Geekbench benchmark scores of the Sony Xperia Z4, under the code Sony 78YB16RC98PW62B1. Based on the post, the device earned a score of 1196 on single-core and 3576 on multi-core tests. 

Sony Mobile is still silent about the validity of all the claims that are currently going around online.
