The rumors about the upcoming Sony Xperia Z4 have been piling up as the expected release date in January draws nearer, and it seems like the details are becoming clearer as new speculations are posted online.

According to the most recent speculations, the upcoming Xperia Z4 will have a 5.2-inch screen with 1080p resolution. It contradicts the earlier rumor that the new flagship phone from the Japanese consumer brand will be given a 5.4-inch screen with 1440p resolution.

If this new leak turns out to be accurate, it means that the new phone will have the same size as the earlier generations of Xperia Z, such as the Xperia Z2 and the Xperia Z3.

The latest rumors were initially reported by PhoneArena earlier this week, claiming that the report came from a credible Sony insider.

Also, the new reports mentioned that the upcoming high-end flagship phone is much-improved under the hood. According to the same source, the new Xperia Z4 will be equipped with a Snapdragon 805 chipset. This seems to be a popular kind of processor at the moment, since almost all phablets like the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 have it already. Yet there are also rumors claiming that the new phone will be fitted with Qualcomm's latest Snapdragon 810 processor.

Since one of the best features of Sony Xperia product line is its camera, the upcoming product is said to be given a slight improvement as well. It will reportedly have a 21-megapixel primary camera with IMX230 sensor, as well as an impressive 4K video recording capability.

The soon to be released flagship phone from the Japan-based company seems to be making minimal changes to its predecessor, the Sony Xperia Z3.

If all these rumors will be confirmed, consumers will get the improved smartphone from Sony when it is revealed during the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas in January.
