Sony unveiled its new full-frame mirrorless shooter last Friday (Sept. 11), the Alpha A7s II, which is expected to surpass its predecessor, the Alpha A7s.

The new A7s II still has the 409,600 ISO setting from its predecessor — still doing great when shooting under poor lighting conditions — but it is now equipped with the ability to shoot 4K videos without the need for an external recorder to capture Ultra HD videos, like the case of its predecessor.

The full frame sensor that comes with the new camera ensures no pixel binning when shooting at 4K or 1080p resolution.

Sony has also incorporated other new features including the S-Log3 shooting mode, which uses 14-stop dynamic range that translates to better captures in different lighting conditions, as reported in Slashgear.

There's also the silent shooting mode for those who want to capture intense moments without shutter sounds disturbing the scene. This mode can be activated to allow five frames per second shooting plus an enhanced reduced vibration mode for reliable images.

The new A7s II also adopts the five-axis stabilization from its predecessor, which allows photographers to take sharp images even under low light or when zoom lenses are used.

Sony announced in its press release that A7s II has been enhanced to make it more reliable and user friendly.

Its body made from magnesium alloy is sturdy and yet, there's still a light feel to it. The company further stated that shutter buttons and camera grip have been revamped so that the device can naturally fit while being held.

For a much more resilient camera, its lens mount has been improved greatly, which is important especially when third party lenses will be attached.

Furthermore, A7s II is capable of charging from a USB power supply, allowing users to operate the device even when charging.

Sony's Alpha A7s II will be available in November this year first in Europe and it will come with a hefty price tag of €3,400.
