Soul in the City came to a close on a glorious day Saturday 7th August. Large crowds gathered at Trafalgar Square for the celebration, with delegates coming from all over the globe, even as far away as Australia; and many others also from the United States, Malaysia, South Africa among many others.

The celebration opened with an prayer from the Bishop of London, and was hosted by Jonathan Oloyede and Mike Pilauchi. Everyone gave thanks to God for all the churches being able to unite with each other across the UK over the event.

Soul in the City, a two-week event, brought over 20,000 young people from all over the world together to serve the community in London. It has taken three years of careful, and meticulous preparation for the vision of Soul in the City to be fulfilled.

The praise and worship team lit a fire in the hearts of all the delegates, with a line-up including Tim Hughes, Mark Beswick (Power Praise) and Muyiwa.

"Today is indescribable, it is fantastic. So many people from all over London and all over Europe have come just to celebrate Jesus. I have enjoyed my time here with Soul in the City so much. For the future, I think this is just the start of something tremendous and powerful of what God is doing. I am looking forward to the continuing work after this - what will happen next, and what we do from now on. I am excited about the future, and it is very great to be here," said Mark Beswick of Power Praise.

A big climax of the whole celebration was when Mike Pilauchi asked for those who had come to the event with a new desire to follow Jesus Christ to come up to the stage. This resulted in many delegates coming up and praying together. They received great applause "not only from heaven, but also from all the brothers and sisters here on earth".

The organisers believe that Soul in the City is just the start of bringing all the chuches together, and that the long-term impact will be seen clearer in the future when all the churches carry on the works that have begun over the past two weeks.
