Despite all rumors that Asa Butterfield has secured the role of Peter Parker a.k.a. Spider-Man, The Hollywood Reporter reports that Marvel Studios has just tested six potential actors to take up the role and they are now being flown in to Atlanta for one final screen test. 

The report stated that Marvel Studios and Sony conducted a nationwide hunt and screened over 1,500 young male actors for the role before they eventually ended up with the six they now have. 

The actors on the list are as follows: Asa Butterfield ("Hugo" and "Ender's Game"); Tom Holland ("The Impossible" and "In the Heart of the Sea"); Judah Lewis ("Deliverance Creek" and "Demolition"); Matthew Lintz ("Kill The Messenger" and "Pixels"); Charlie Plummer ("Boardwalk Empire"); and Charlie Rowe ("Red Band Society"). 

According to the report, just because the six actors have passed the initial screen test doesn't mean that one of them is guaranteed to get the job. According to THR's source, there's still that slim chance that the search would go on if Marvel decides that none of the six actors fits the bill. 

Atlanta is where "Captain America: Civil War" is currently in production and it is also the film where the new Spider-Man is set to make his debut before landing his own solo film franchise. It is likely that right after hiring one of the six actors, Marvel will put him to work while production is still ongoing. 

The final screen test will have Marvel Studios president and producer Kevin Feige on board as well as producer Amy Pascal, and "Captain America: Civil War" directors Joe and Anthony Russo. According to the report, a decision will be made soon due to time constraints and that an announcement may be made as early as next week.
