In light of actor Tom Holland's casting as the new, markedly young Peter Parker, new rumors and spoilers have surfaced about the "Spider-Man" reboot. The latest information came from Marvel president himself, Kevin Feige, who revealed that the film will be a "John Hughes movie."  

Restating the movie's high-school setting, Feige told SlashFilm, "Some of my favorite Spider-Man arcs and Spider-Man stories, he's in high school for a lot of it. We want to explore that."

He added that with many attempts at telling the web-slinger's story on the big screen, this will set it apart and provide a new dynamic. 

"That also makes him very, very different from any of our other characters in the MCU, which is something else we want to explore: how unique he is when now put against all these other characters," Feige explained. 

As to who Holland's Spider-Man will be squaring off against in his own film, Feige said that Marvel is "interested in seeing villains we haven't seen before." While it hasn't been disclosed as to who this baddie will be, this seems to be the comic giant's guarantee in making this reboot stand out. 

While Holland is at the center of "Spider-Man" headlines, Marvel went for Jon Watts to direct the wise-cracking superhero's solo Marvel film because they see the helmer as someone they can work with in more projects. 

"We met with him four, five, or six times, and each time he had more and more interesting things to say," Feige told Collider. "And at Marvel, it always comes down to ultimately, 'We can make a movie with this person for two years, we could spend almost every day with this person for two years. Let's go.'" 

The "Spider-Man" film will be released on July 28, 2017 but a glimpse of the superhero will be seen in "Captain America: Civil War," which will hit theaters on May 6, 2016.
