Nintendo introduced a new and better version of the main roller weapon Inkbrush for the third-person shooter video game "Splatoon 2." The Inkbrush was improved to an Inkbrush Nouveau with a new sub-weapon and special weapon.

The Inkbrush Nouveau packs the Ink Mine sub-weapon and the Baller special weapon. The Ink Mine and the Baller are designed to penetrate opponents' defenses and rely on swiftness.

According to Nintendo's description of the weapon, "This bristling beauty matches the states of the Inkbrush but has a kit that's built for speed. It comes with the Ink Mine sub-weapon and Baller special to break through your enemies' defenses."

Nintendo made the announcement on the official "Splatoon" Twitter account. The Inkbrush Nouveau was released on Nov. 11.

"Splatoon 2" gamers are looking forward to the upcoming Splatfest event. The Turf Wars competition will commence on Saturday, Nov. 18 at 12 a.m. EST.

The theme of the upcoming Splatfest is about the ongoing debate between the fantasy world and the science-fiction universe. Nintendo blogged about the Splatfest event and mentioned dragons, aliens, magic, technology and fairies.

Previous Splatfests took on themes based on commonly debated topics like vampires versus werewolves, ketchup against mayonnaise, and even the way people roll their toilet papers.

"Splatoon 2's" most recent tournament was held on Nov. 4 to 5. The LAN tournament took place in Boston and Nintendo worked with Squid Research Lab.

"Splatoon 2" has received impressive score ratings from online critics since its release in July. IGN gave the game an 8.3 out of 10 and it has an 83 percent rating on Metacritic. The team-based video game is exclusive to Nintendo Switch players.

There is still no news if Nintendo will release other new or improved weapons in the near future.
