"Splatoon" is still making it big in Wii U, and now, fans are lucky since they get to know about the upcoming game update ahead of its release date.

According to gaming site The Koalition, a Twitter user @NWPlayer123 reportedly leaked information on the upcoming update and it mentioned that the future downloadable characters (DLC) for the game has new characters, weapons, and Amiibo release.

According to Design&Trend, the news started back in August but is now getting more attention since some of information has been proven to be true.

One of the most significant parts of the leaked update is that "Splatoon" might introduce a new race for both single and multiplayer game modes.

Apart from the Inkling characters that came with the game's launch, the tipster claimed that players could join the arena as a new race — the Octoling.

This new race of fighters is described as "octopus-like creatures" that possess the same ink-swimming and kraken-transforming abilities.

The report went on to say that the characters might also have special features that make them different from the Inklings, but nothing has been said much about this.

In addition, it was reported that the Octolings would also get their own Amiibo version, but nothing has also been confirmed at this point.

After the leak from the tipster, Reddit sources also shared their own with almost 20 new weapons set to arrive with the upcoming update. However, most of these weapons listed in this link are upgraded versions of the ones that are currently in the game.

An Octobrush Noveau weapon is also found on the list, which may coincide with the news on the new character class. It could be a limited weapon for the Octoling, but all these will need to be confirmed by Nintendo.
