'Splatoon' strange sounds issue: Sounds baffle game makers

Strange sounds are being found in specific parts of "Splatoon" to the bewilderment of almost everyone.

Recently, some players have discovered that the background music in some of the boss fights in "Splatoon" change dramatically, and not in a good way. Instead of taking on a more exciting or energetic tone, the music shifts to something scarier and more sinister, similar to the kinds of sounds people are more likely to encounter while playing horror games, according to Forbes.

The sounds appear to be out of place in the game, given its decidedly child-friendly aesthetic. In addition to the sounds seeming to be inappropriate for the kind of title "Splatoon" is, even some of the people working on the game have no idea what is happening.

According to the game's lead designer, Tsubasa Sakaguchi, he was entirely unaware of the scary sounds until it was brought to his attention. Sakaguchi went on to say that he does not know exactly why the sound is like it is and why it has managed to find itself in the game, but he does suspect that it may have been something related to an error during the development process. Sakaguchi suggested that the strange sounds may be a product of something slipping through the cracks while the entire team was in an excited state as they were putting the finishing touches on the game.

In related news, new bucket and minigun weapons are coming to "Splatoon," according to Destructoid.

The bucket weapon features a more concentrated shot that players can use in specific situations, while the minigun provides a more spread out shot that can be used on multiple targets in quick succession.

Two new levels are also coming to the game, with one being an apartment-themed environment, and the other allowing players to engage in combat while on a bridge.
