Sprint is now rolling out the Android 5.0 Lollipop update for the Samsung Galaxy Note Edge and the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 under its network. The carrier has dispatched the update over the air so Sprint users should be receiving notifications right now. 

However, updates released on this manner take awhile to reach every user, so Sprint customers with the Galaxy Note Edge and Galaxy Note 3 who have not yet received the notification should wait a bit longer. They can also manually check the availability of the software by heading to Settings -> General -> System Update -> Update Now.

After Galaxy Note 3 users dress their phone up with Lollipop, the device will have a new build number, N900PVPUEOC5. Notably, this will be a major jump for the 2013 flagship as it still runs Android KitKat. Those who rock the Samsung Galaxy Note Edge and its cool and tasteful curved display will get the build N915PVPU0AOC8.

As far as features go, there is the new Material Design that brings vibrant animations as well as other features that improve battery life and overall performance and security. Furthermore, the notification tray is revamped and the lockscreen is made to show more at a glance — all these on top of Sprint's added tweaking and features to improve the Galaxy Note 3, the Galaxy Note Edge, and the network's services as well. In addition to that, Sprint subscribers using the Note Edge will enjoy Wi-Fi calling enhancements as well as a feature called factory reset protection. 

When the Android 5.0 Lollipop notification pops up, owners need to make sure that the device is juiced up at least 50 percent and that there is enough space for the update for the process to go smoothly.
