If reports are true, we might just see the St. Louis Rams returning to Los Angeles and with a new stadium too!

Rams owner Stan Kroenke has reportedly teamed up with owners over at the Hollywood Park to build a stadium possibly adjacent to it and the Forum. This comes a year after Kroenke purchased a 60 acres of land in Inglewood.

If all goes well, the plan is to build an 80,000 seat stadium in the LA suburbs which will become the new home of the Rams. It would also put an end to the two decade absence of an NFL team in Los Angeles. The proposal was first reported by the Los Angeles Times last Monday.

But despite plans of putting up a stadium, moving the Rams to Los Angeles will still depend on the decision of the NFL. And this is apparently why they are calling the proposed stadium multi-purpose for now, meaning it will be more than just for playing football.

Another obstacle standing in the way of the proposed stadium building is that it will need to get the approval of voters to materialize.

The proposal of building a stadium to serve as the Rams home turf comes was a result of the team being unhappy with their current one, the Edward Jones Dome. The old stadium is sorely lacking in NFL standards and is one of the many aging stadiums. Should Kroenke and Christopher Meany (Hollywood Park Land Co.) get the necessary work done, the earliest time that any team could return to Inglewood would be by 2018.

"This is a perfect location for a venue like this," says Meany. "I don't know of a place that compares to this."
