"Star Wars" is known to have the most loyal of fans. From "A New Hope" to the recent "The Force Awakens," and to the side stories like "Rogue One: A Star Wars Story," the fans have kept the wait exciting with theories. Some even love to guess which one of these theories and speculations would turn out to be true when the film comes out.

The latest trailer released was a great source for the fan theorists. The trailer is dark, and everybody saw that. It gave "Episode 8" a feel that something ominous is coming for the characters. From here, people started to come up with stories about what's to come.

In ties with the dark aura of the trailer, there have been several reports that Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamil) will take a different route. Daisy Ridley who plays Rey, recently shared at the "Star Wars" celebration in Orlando that the Jedi master might be being challenged to go on a different direction in terms of allegiance. Hamil also said similar statements that pointed to Ridley's remarks regarding his character's fate, making fans hope that this theory might be true.

Aside from the trailer, one of the most obvious questions right now is — who is the Last Jedi? When it was first revealed in the official "Star Wars" website many people immediately went online to speculate on who might this person be.

Will it be Luke? Many fans of the series are guessing that the character might be the "Last Jedi." In the movie "Return of the Jedi," Yoda's last speech said, "When gone am I, the last of the Jedi will you be."

Yoda could have been referring to Luke, but many are also saying that it could be Rey. In "Episode 8," Rey is said to be in training and if she completes it, she too will get to have the title of a Jedi.

Right now, there are still no confirmed plot-related stories for "Episode 8" out there. Fans are free to speculate and come up with theories until the film arrives.

"Star Wars: The Last Jedi" is scheduled for release on Dec. 15.
