The "Star Ocean" franchise series has been a favorite of console gamers since it was released on the Xbox 360 and PlayStation (PS) 3 back in 2009. With "The Last Hope" remastered version going live tomorrow, PC gamers will also be able to play the game on their desktops, and thankfully, they will not need much to play the game.

An Intel i3 or an Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) 8-6500 should be enough to decently run the game on a Windows 7-64 bit operating system (OS) with at least 2 gigabytes (GB) of random access memory (RAM), as per GamingBolt. Mid-gaming rigs would already be enough to even see the significant graphic differences from the game's 2009 version.

The "Star Ocean: The Last Hope" remastered version also caters to PS4 users. As a remastered version, it will come with HD 4K support for both platforms. PS4 gamers, however, need the Pro version to fully run it in 4K. The regular PS4 will still run the game 1080p, which is obviously not that bad.

Square Enix, the game's developers, also released the remastered version's official trailer recently. It shows a lot of the story sequences with a much better graphics. That said, gamers may need a high-end gaming rig to fully maximize the game's capabilities, but even the lowest performance will do for those without the budget.

"The Last Hope" is the fifth game in a six-game franchise. Among the six, it is not exactly the fans' favorite, so it might be weird for some fans seeing that this title gets to be the first one remastered. However, according to PC Gamer, it would make sense knowing that the plot of "The Last Hope" actually takes place before the first game. Story-wise, therefore, "The Last Hope" would be the "first" game.

"Star Ocean: The Last Hope" remastered version for PC and PS4 is out today, Nov. 28. Gamers can get it at the PlayStation Store for the PS4 and Steam for PC for $20.99.
