Good news for fans who are eagerly anticipating to catch a glimpse at the upcoming "Star Wars: Battlefront" title – the beta version of the game will not be a closed one. This means that instead of invites-only gameplay like other betas, the test phase of "Star Wars: Battlefront" will be open for all to experience. 

According to the recent update on the official "Battlefront" blog, Electronic Arts' Community Manager Mathew Everett announced that the beta is free to play for everyone.

Everett wrote, "Well, we're excited to say that the beta is open to everyone! Get ready for the beta release date and also make sure your system is ready to download the beta the moment it goes live."

Meanwhile, the live beta for "Star Wars: Battlefront" will also be different from the test stages of other titles, wherein the closed beta is limited only to some features of the full version of the game. Although the beta will be smaller in comparison to the full version, Everett assured fans that there will both be offline and online components for players to experience. In addition, there will also be a collection of both single-player missions and multiplayer challenges. 

Multiplayer missions on the beta version involve the Walker Assault mode on Hoth. Surprisingly, the newly announced Drop Zone will also be included in the test version and the gameplay will involve players exploring Sullust. For solo players, there is the Survival Mission mode on Tatooine where players can play the game as a single player, or with a friend via split-screen couch co-op or online.

Publisher Electronic Arts also did not specifically mention a date on when the beta version will roll out. However, previous reports from industry observers such as IGN place the beta to take place early next month.

Once the beta version goes live, fans of the franchise will be able to play "Star Wars: Battlefront" on their Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC via Origin.
