It is already confirmed that the next expansion for "Star Wars: Battlefront" will come out this month, but a specific release date has yet to be revealed. Speculations suggest that the new "Death Star" DLC will go live on Sept. 20.

According to MovieNewsGuide, the new DLC will go live across all platforms on Sept. 20. This means that players of "Star Wars: Battlefront" for the Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC will be able to access the new expansion on the last week of the month. While publisher Electronic Arts has yet to confirm the date, it is interesting to note that the publisher has already revealed that there will be a "Double Score Weekend" event for the game starting Sept. 23.

However, the launch may only be a limited release, since like the previous DLC debuts, the "Death Star" DLC may launch first as a timed-exclusive for Season Pass holders. The previous expansion content, the "Bespin" DLC, also rolled out first for season pass holders before other players got the chance to purchase the expansion as a stand-alone pack. This means that regular players are likely to get access to the 'Death Star" DLC starting next month.

Meanwhile, although the new DLC has a staggered release, fans of the franchise already know the major details for the "Death Star" expansion, as both EA and developer DICE have revealed the big features of the game. The new DLC will introduce a new game mode, as well as a number of new in-game items and content.

The "Death Star" expansion is the third of four planned DLCs for "Star Wars: Battlefront." However, although there are still months left in the year, the upcoming DLC is the last expansion to roll out for 2016. Reportedly, the last expansion content for the game will come out early next year, and will tie in directly with the upcoming "Rogue One: A Star Wars Story" spin-off film.
