It is already confirmed that the next expansion content for "Star Wars: Battlefront" will be released next month. However, it seems that the release is an early-access roll-out as the September launch is reportedly for season pass holders only.

According to GottabeMobile, while it is confirmed that the release window for the "Death Star" DLC is for next month, it is most likely an early access launch for season pass holders. While publisher Electronic Arts has yet to confirm the rumors, the industry follower believes that the next expansion pack will also be released much like the previous DLCs rolled out. The previous expansion content, the "Bespin" DLC, also rolled out first for season pass holders before other players got the chance to purchase the expansion as a stand-alone pack.

In addition, since it is revealed that EA and developer DICE are planning a "Double Score Weekend" starting Sept. 23, it is expected that the early access for the "Death Star" DLC will go live in the later weeks next month. This means that regular players will get access to the latest expansion pack starting from October at the earliest.

Meanwhile, since the new "Death Star" DLC is just weeks away from its rollout, EA showcased the new expansion content anew at the 2016 Gamescom. Additional details on the upcoming content are revealed, such as a new mode – dubbed as "Battle Station" – getting three phases of gameplay from the same in-game mission. The gameplay ranges from flying in outer space to an all-out, close-quarters battle inside the space station.

The "Death Star" DLC is the third of four planned expansion content for "Star Wars: Battlefront" and is the last DLC to roll out for the year. Reportedly, the last expansion content for the game will come out early next year, and will tie in directly with the upcoming "Rogue One: A Star Wars Story" spin-off film.
