'Star Wars: Battlefront' DLC 'Death Star' news: DLC heading to gamers in September

Star Wars Battlefront - Death Star DLCEA, DICE

Since the launch of "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" in theaters, the franchise has seen a booming resurgence and the same can be said in the video game industry with the launch of "Star Wars: Battlefront." The game may be almost a year old but it is getting a brand new "Death Star" DLC, and according to Game N Guide, it is set to launch this coming September.

The DLC will be bringing two special heroes into the game. One is Han Solo's (Harrison Ford) trusty co-pilot, the Wookie known as Chewbacca while the other is a Trandoshan bounty hunter known as Bossk. Bossk was first introduced back in "The Empire Strikes Back" and was taking instructions from the villain Darth Vader.

New Star Cards, weapons and vehicles are also going to be introduced. Darth Vader's special Tie Fighter will be added into the game and so will Luke Skywalker's (Mark Hamill) Red 5 X-Wing. Some vehicles and maps from the upcoming spin-off and prequel film "Rogue One: A Star Wars Story" will also be added into the game.

"Death Star" won't just focus on the events around "Star Wars: A New Hope" as it will also feature a few maps, characters or tidbits relating to "Rogue One," given that the latter is set right before the former. This may give movie fans who are also playing the game an early look at what the film may be about or what kind of worlds it will show.

However, the report also points out that the September release is solely for gamers with the Season Pass. They will be getting access to the "Death Star" DLC content a full two weeks before the rest of the world. Those without the "Star Wars: Battlefront" Season Pass will have to wait until early October to avail of the "Death Star" DLC.
