'Star Wars Battlefront' DLC news: 3 expansion packs detailed in leak

DICE

EA and DICE's post-launch DLC plans for "Star Wars Battlefront" were apparently leaked on the game's forums. The post that held all the information has been deleted but eagled-eyed fans managed to save a copy of the details.

The leak revealed that the first "Star Wars Battlefront" DLC will be released on March 12. Dubbed "Outer Rim," the expansion pack comes with a couple of new game modes along with new weapons and abilities.

The first game mode called the "Invasion" is described as the "largest multiplayer mode in the game." In it, 60 players are divided into two teams – Rebels and Imperials as they battle Walker Assault-style in the planet Sullust.

The goal is for the Imperial troops to regain control of the factories now overrun by the Rebels. In order to do so, the Empire is endowed four on-rail AT-ATs, two of which will be playable right away and the two others joining mid-match when they are needed.

This "Star Wars Battlefront" DLC will also bring along the Scramble game mode, a 12v12 match between the Rebels and Imperials at Jabba the Hutt's Palace. Both parties are allowed to make use of traps to outsmart their opponents.

However, players will have to pay attention to the crime lord apart from their enemies because he wants no monkey business happening in his bastion. The game mode will feature new Star Cards as well.

The second "Star Wars Battlefront" DLC is called "Bespin," which is listed for a July 17 release. Religiously following the source material, this DLC will add Chewbacca and Lando Calrissian to the fray.

All previous Heroes will still be playable except for Han Solo because the game mode is set at the time he was frozen in carbonite, as fans of the original "Star Wars" trilogy will recall.

This "Star Wars Battlefront" DLC introduces the Bounty Hunt game mode, where players take the role of a bounty hunter on a mission to track down Princess Leia and Luke Skywalker before they manage to escape.

If the leak is to be believed, the Death Star will cast its massive shadow on "Star Wars Battlefront." The DLC named after the moon-sized space station is expected to be released on Nov. 12 and will re-enact its destruction. No further information was provided.
