EA DICE has finally revealed the release date of the new downloadable content (DLC) for the "Star Wars Battlefront" game, the "Rogue One: Scarif" expansion. The new DLC features two new characters, as well as four maps and more features that gamers can explore and enjoy.

According to Game Rant, when EA DICE launched "Star Wars Battlefront" last year, the game received good reviews as well as a strong starting fanbase. Thankfully, the game was able to perform well enough for it to receive more and more support from the studio ever since, which includes both free and premium content that added more characters and maps.

Avid fans of the game had a good year, and DICE is looking forward to finish off its post-launch support of the game on a high note with DLC based on the upcoming "Rogue One" movie. However, the DLC will only be available for a limited period of time, maybe a couple of weeks after its launch on Tuesday, Dec. 6. The expansion will feature four maps including Scarif, a tropical planet that was seen in the film's trailers.

Besides that, two new characters will be joining the game: Jyn Erso, a Rebel ally tasked to steal the plans for the Death Star and Orson Krennic, a character that plays a key role in creating the deadly battle station. The features of the game will be available for those who purchase the DLC or for those who already own the game's season pass.

Thankfully, there will also be free content for those who will not buy the DLC, such as a new game mode that features both space and ground combat. However, the details of the free DLC are still unclear for now.

"Star Wars: Battlefront" will have its "Rogue One: Scarif" DLC on Dec. 6. According to iTechPost, the Xbox One, PS4, and PC versions of the game will receive the DLC at the same time.
