EA Starwars Official

"Star Wars: Battlefront" is still fresh in its release, having arrived in November 2015, and the game did not disappoint. This year, fans have the DLC update to look forward to, which is said to arrive "early in 2016."

The "Star Wars: Battlefront" DLC update is scheduled to be launched early this year, as stated in the official game website. However, EA DICE has not confirmed an exact release date, which only paved way to speculations as to when the game will arrive. The official website has already provided an idea on what that the DLC update will offer.

The DLC is said to consist of four expansion packs with new exciting content featuring new game locations. Those who have the game's Season Pass will get access to these expansion packs way ahead of its yet-to-be-revealed release date.

There was no specific mention of what's to come in the DLC content, but EA DICE did indicate that there are new map types, new game modes and four new heroes and villains.

EA Studios executive vice president, Patrick Söderlund, also mentioned back in November that more fresh content will be arriving in the months to come for free.

"We will be adding more of what you love about the game, like new maps and Star Cards, for free in the coming months, in addition to all of the content we have coming with Season Pass. We'll have more to share soon," he said.

Based on what the VP shared and what's posted on the official website, "Star Wars: Battlefront" DLC is definitely something that a lot of gamers would look forward to.

Meanwhile, the DLC is also rumored to feature Chewbacca as a playable hero, according to video posted by Star Wars HQ. The video claims that Chewbacca was spotted somewhere in the game after unlocking the millennium falcon diorama.

It remains to be seen if the character will appear in the DLC and what his powers may be, but the video mentioned that he could likely be a "tank of the gang."

"Star Wars: Battlefront" is now available on PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
