Electronic Arts (EA) looks like it will need the convincing powers of a Jedi mind trick for "Star Wars Battlefront II," as they convince players that recent "pay-to-win" worries are unwarranted.

In an interview with Gamespot following the end of the open beta for the upcoming game, EA has acknowledged the allegations from the fans and beta testers that the game has. They said that such accusations are understandable and difficult to avoid.

This was because players have speculated that the game's loot-crate, Star Cards, and microtransactions system will lead to more advantages for players who have more money to spend, hence the "pay-to-win" term.

Chris Matthews, director of EA says "Right now there have been games that exploit players and there have been games that have done it in better ways. DICE [developer of Battlefront II's multiplayer] has taken great care to make sure that Star Cards and the way they work give you more options in battle. Terms like pay-to-win and stuff like that are hard to dodge, but the guys are doing a really incredible job of trying to balance that system."

They then went on that they respect the players' feedback and added that as gamers themselves, they knew how to introduce more compelling gameplay options for players to explore without annoying fans.

Still, when asked whether they can consider envisioning the gameplay without the loot crate system and microtransactions, they said that they are currently not in a position to talk about it and that developer DICE would have a better response to the question.

DICE went on to say that they are working well to balance the feature and are working on making the most powerful items in the game only available via achievements instead of actual money. Loot crates, on the other hand, would still be obtainable either by playing more or skipping the work and just paying for them. More updates and announcements from the developer and publisher about the alleged pay-to-win systems are expected, and gamers are advised to stay tuned.

"Star Wars Battlefront II" is set to be released on Nov. 17 for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and Microsoft Windows.
