'Star Wars Battlefront II' to receive brand new game maps
"Star Wars Battlefront II" is coming to PC and consoles on Nov. 17, and the latest addition to the "Star Wars" game franchise is going to feature a handful of brand new map areas to explore.
On Nov. 8, video game news website Game Spot uploaded a gameplay video featuring some of the new areas the game would have to offer. The video itself featured an assortment of different combat situations that ranged from wide scale, all-out wars in large environments such as abandoned high tech cities to airships fights. It also featured different kinds of combat available in-game from star troopers blasting away at their foes to airships maneuvering their way past bullets as they soar through the skies.
Star Wars HQ also uploaded a similar video onto their YouTube channel on the same day, though this video introduced all the galactic assault maps alongside a sneak-peak of the game's multiplayer gameplay. Similar to Game Spot's video, Star Wars HQ presented a montage of the different sceneries and places players would be able to traverse once the game is released.
Aside from the new map areas, "Star Wars Battlefront II" boasts a huge amount of in-game content.
An example is the ability to play as iconic characters from the movie franchise. Players will be able to spend the points they earn on unlocking heroes or villains from "Star Wars" Once they've unlocked certain characters, they will then be able to play as these characters in the upcoming Heroes vs. Villains mode – one of the playable game modes that pit iconic characters against each other in exhilarating combat.
The game has several more game modes that feature unique missions. These modes range from flying space crafts to co-operative, competitive, and more.
"Star Wars Battlefront II" is coming to the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. Fans who want to get their hands on the game early can also choose to pre-order it.
