Fans of "Star Wars" are in for a treat as one of the most anticipated game titles of the year, "Star Wars: Battlefront," will reportedly feature 12 maps when it is launched in November.

According to the game's developer DICE, there would be at least 12 maps to be made available for multiplayers, ranging from familiar landscapes made popular by the "Star Wars" movies, and other planets made out of concept art.

DICE said, "Of the 12 multiplayer maps in 'Star Wars Battlefront', some feel immediately familiar — such as the lush forests of Endor or the tundra of Hoth. Some of the maps support our epic modes like Walker Assault, while others are tailored to more intimate, close quarters combat."

The number of maps is exclusive to the online multiplayer mode, and adding to the 12 maps already confirmed are the different areas to be explored by gamers playing the upcoming title's co-op Missions mode.

There is no new information yet on what planets and areas would make it to the multiplayer map list, but based on DICE's announcements, there are already three confirmed locations. Players can experience multiplayer battles on Endor and Hoth, both made famous as battle locations in previous "Star Wars" movies. Of interest is the new planet of Sullust, a new area showcased by DICE in its website

It is also confirmed that aside from implementing the 40-player cap for multiplayer modes, some of the maps would also support other gameplay from the title, such as the much-hyped Walker Assault mode. Players will also be in for an added treat, as the upcoming game will feature free DLC content to be released on Dec. 1 based on the upcoming "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" movie.

"Star Wars: Battlefront" will be released on Nov. 17 for players on the Xbox One, Playstation 4, and PC.
