The long awaited beta for "Star Wars: Battlefront" is finally here.

The beta officially launched a few days ago on Oct. 8 and is now playable on the personal computer (PC), PlayStation 4 (PS4), and the Xbox One.

There's a lot for players to look forward to in the "Star Wars: Battlefront" aside from getting a sneak preview of the game itself.

Players who are already and who are still planning to participate in the game's open beta will have a variety of different game modes to choose from, according to Gamespot.

They can either opt for the Drop Zone, which will pit players in a team battle focused on securing the drop pods that are falling towards the surface. They can also try out the Survival Mission mode, which is expected to present players with quite a challenge as they navigate through the vast landscapes featured in the game. Players can also try out the 40 player Walker Assault, which is a game mode that is expected to be as much fun as it is chaotic, which would not be at all out of place inside the "Star Wars" universe.

Players trying out the "Star Wars: Battlefront" beta can also get items that will also be useful for the actual game.

Unsurprisingly, given the hype surrounding "Star Wars: Battlefront" and the fact that it is offering an open beta, there have been some players who have reported problems trying to find multiplayer matches. Some players have also indicated that they have also experienced problems trying to stay connected to those matches.

EA has already begun to address these issues, and they are adding more servers to help cope with the high number of players currently trying out the "Star Wars: Battlefront" beta, PC Gamer reported.

There's still a few days left for the "Star Wars: Battlefront" beta as it is scheduled to end on Oct. 12.
