With the massive hype and the popularity of "Star Wars: The Force Awakens," gamers automatically expected that a special DLC inspired by the blockbuster film will be released for the action shooter video game "Star Wars Battlefront."

Unfortunately, EA and DICE do not have that in the agenda at all. When asked on Twitter about an expansion pack based on the latest film in the mega successful space opera franchise directed by J.J. Abrams, EA responded that "our team is focusing on the original trilogy for this release."

Before the film was released, it was understandable why EA and DICE won't be making such type of DLC. Forbes figured that the collaborators are only shying away from potentially spoiling the movie for everyone so they opted against releasing a DLC for it in "Star Wars Battlefront." It was expected that it will at least be released after the record-breaking film hits the theaters, but this isn't the case either.

The closest that gamers can get to in a "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" DLC is the "Battle of Jakku" expansion pack, which was made available earlier this month. The missions in this DLC are set in the same battle-scarred planet that is a major focus in the latest movie.

Mashable believes that EA choosing not to release a demanded DLC as such for "Star Wars Battlefront" is sensible. The site points out that the remark "this release" in their statement suggests that there will be more "Battlefront" games and they may just be saving it up for a brand new game.

This is why there is a reason to look forward to another installment where gamers can actually trudge the battlefield playing as the new heroes and villains introduced in the film namely Rey, Finn, Poe and Kylo Ren.

While media outlets believe that it is a good bet that this will happen considering the success of "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" in cinemas and the confirmed trilogy it is bound to commence, EA and DICE are yet to make it official.
