"Star Wars Battlefront" publisher EA will be releasing a beta for the game, and it is expected to have some enticing features for prospective players.

The upcoming beta is promising to provide players with a fairly significant look into the game, although most fans are likely looking forward to the opportunity to get to play as two of the most iconic characters in the "Star Wars" franchise.

According to EA, players will be given the opportunity to play as Darth Vader and Luke Skywalker in the beta.

The two characters will be playable in the Walker Assault, a game mode which will feature a 40-player multiplayer battle that will also include the Empire and the Rebels, giving the players more opportunities to showcase the special abilities of both Darth Vader and Luke Skywalker. Walker Assault will be taking place in Hoth in the beta.

Walker Assault will only be one of the three gameplay modes to be offered in the "Star Wars Battlefront" beta.

Another option players can try out is the Survival Mission mode which will be taking place in Tatooine. In Survival Mode, players will be teaming up with a Rebel ally to fend off multiple hordes of Imperial forces.

EA is also introducing a new mode known as Drop Zone in the "Star Wars Battlefront" beta. For now, EA has chosen not to reveal details regarding the new mode; although they have indicated that they will be sharing more in the weeks prior to the beta's arrival.

Sign-up information for the "Star Wars Battlefront" is not available just yet.

EA has also announced a new app that can be used along with the "Star Wars Battlefront" beta, according to NDTV.

The official release date of the "Star Wars Battlefront" beta has not been announced yet, although it is expected to arrive in early October.
