As a reboot of the successful "Star Wars: Battlefront series", the new online multiplayer game, also called Star Wars Battlefront, is being produced by video game developer EA Digital Illusions Creative Entertainment (EA Dice).

The Star Wars Battlefront series was originally developed by Pandemic Studios, before Electronic Arts acquired the rights to the series.

The new Star Wars Battlefront video game is expected to be available for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Microsoft Windows platforms on November 17 in the U.S. and on November 20 in the U.K.

New gameplay footage was revealed at the recent Electronic Entertainment Expo 2015 (E3 2015) event that took place in Los Angeles, California. The new footage showed a mode, called the "Walker Assault", on the Star Wars fictional planet, Hoth.

According to gaming website IGN, the Walker Assault mode features a twenty versus twenty gameplay, where a team of the Rebel Alliance must protect themselves from an invasion by a team of the Galactic Empire. Another mode also exists, where a player can play the game by himself or along with another player.

A new trailer along with further details of the game was also revealed earlier this year at the Star Wars Celebration 2015, which was held in Anaheim, California.

Dual Shockers recently reported that the new Star Wars video game had topped the list of the most viewed E3 trailers on the Youtube website. The second in the list is the popular Final Fantasy 7 remake video game by Japanese developer Square Enix.

Electronic Arts said last May that the new Star Wars Battlefront video game is expected to sell over 9 million copies before March of next year.
