'Star Wars: Battlefront' release news: Han Solo to be featured?

"Star Wars: Battlefront" is, no doubt, one of the biggest game releases this year. According to reports, the all-new much-awaited shooter is a complete departure from its series, boasting new planets and unique missions, with locations waiting to be explored by adventure-hungry gamers.

The "Star Wars" universe is a big one and the discovery of its sprawling cosmos is done through movies, books, and games, and game company DICE is undoubtedly working hard to make players feel like the upcoming game belongs in that world. In a feature article on Sweden's gaming magazine "Level," it was revealed that the game studio is scared of "upsetting" fans. The pressure and the expectations are so great, and this motivates the developer to craft the game into something that will make players feel satisfied.

What might help is Han Solo's playability in the game. Just recently, Electronic Arts and DICE shared a photo of a DL-44 blaster pistol, the great Rebel Alliance leader's infamous weapon. Media outlets have come to believe that the character will join Boba Fett and Darth Vader in "Star Wars: Battlefront."

DICE and EA revealed that top villains and heroes will be gracing the title, and if Han Solo will be part of the pack, then this could be the collaborators' fulfillment of their promise. Not that Han Solo's inclusion is surprising. The captain fought with his signature pistol in "Battlefront 2" as well.

On the other hand, DICE said that the upcoming game is more of a reboot than a sequel. the company's general manager, Patrick Bach, told the Official PlayStation Magazine that "instead of trying to build upon the old games, we went back and said let's start over."

"It's more about going back to the core idea that Battlefront stands for, and then building on that. Because otherwise you will create a version of somebody else's game, and that's not what we do!" Bach said, adding that DICE builds its "own" games, ones that "breathe DICE."

"Star Wars: Battlefront" will be released on Nov. 17.
