It seems the champion of the Jedi also had doubts with herself, as Daisey Ridley, the actress for new "Star Wars" protagonist Rey, did not think she did a good job in the "The Force Awakens."

According to an interview with Elle, UK, Ridley expressed her doubts about her past performances. She shared, "I didn't think I was good in the first film, and I was struggling with that, It's not this big adventure that I'm on with John [Boyega]. I was thinking I did the first one because I didn't really know what I was getting myself into and I was having loads of fun, and suddenly I'm realizing what this actually is, and I can't f**king do this."

However, she also said that at the end of it all, she found her rhythm. "I'm highly dramatic – so it's all, 'Oh my God'...finally, I was like, 'Oh yeah, this is working,'" the actress shared.

Ridley has also sometimes felt that she bit off more than she could chew. As per her interview, the major doubts about whether or not she could pull off the role crept in further in during the production.

Still, this could mean that, by her own standards, the 25-year-old actress has improved a lot in the upcoming sequel, "The Last Jedi." This will be much-anticipated; especially now that she will be spending more screen time with veteran actor Mark Hamill, who plays the legendary Luke Skywalker.

The actress went on to state that one of the overarching themes of "The Last Jedi" was the grey area in a lot of characters. It will be quite different from the usual "Star Wars" premise where the distinction between good and evil or black and white had been laid out clearly.

Ridley added that this distinction is muddled even more so with Kylo Ren (Adam Driver) and Rey. This could also hint that Luke Skywalker is not the hero he once used to be and that he may really have turned over to other sinister forces.

Despite the actress' sentiment towards her own performance in "The Force Awakens," a lot of fans disagree with her and were actually amazed at her performance, as she brought needed fresh air in the "Star Wars" saga.

Ridley is set to reprise her role as Rey in "Star Wars Episode VIII: The Last Jedi," which will premiere on Dec. 15.
