With the battle between the First Order and the Resistance escalating in "The Last Jedi," it certainly makes a lot of people question which characters will make it to "Episode IX" and which will meet their end in the upcoming film. Fortunately, there are at least two who have been confirmed to be back for the upcoming installment.

Oscar Isaac revealed that he would be coming back for "Episode IX." Speaking to Esquire, Isaac shared that his character, pilot Poe Dameron, still has something to do in the ninth installment of the "Star Wars" saga. Along with that, Isaac also revealed that he starts filming his scenes for "Episode IX" next year.

Poe has not been set up as one of the major players of the franchise, so it might not be so surprising to see if he would not survive the events of "The Last Jedi." Fortunately, for those who love the character, he will be.

"The Force Awakens" saw the death of Han Solo, which led to many speculating on whether or not Poe will be the one to fill the void the smuggler and Millennium Falcon pilot left. Yet, Isaac said that Poe will not be taking on that persona.

Isaac shared that while there could be a chance that Poe will fill that void, "The Last Jedi" writer and director Rian Johnson was more focused on what the story needed rather than Han Solo's place being filled in. The actor went on to explain that now the Resistance is narrowed down to several people, they are on the run, and Leia is taking Poe under her wing to turn him into the next leader of the Resistance, rather than being someone like Han Solo.

Along with Isaac, John Boyega also hinted that Finn will be surviving "The Last Jedi." Speaking to Coming Soon, Boyega shared that it is things are coming full circle, when it came to J.J. Abrams returning to direct the upcoming film. He went on to say that he does not know anything about the script or the story for the ninth movie, and so he does not know where Finn is headed.

"I don't know nothing about the script, the story. I don't know where Finn's going, I don't know where Rey is going, but I definitely feel this is the war to end all wars in this movie," said Boyega.

"Star Wars Episode 8: The Last Jedi" will premiere on Dec. 15.
