It's official. "Star Wars Rebels" will end with its upcoming fourth season.

Executive producer Dave Filoni announced the show's cancellation during the Star Wars Celebration 2017 in Orlando, Florida this weekend. In the "Star Wars Rebels" panel, Filoni was joined by the show's voice cast Tiya Sircar (Sabine), Freddie Prinze, Jr. (Kanan), Taylor Gray (Ezra), Vanessa Marshall (Hera) and Steve Blum (Zeb).

Also unveiled at the event was the first trailer for "Star Wars Rebels" season 4. The two-minute clip shows Hera piloting an X-wing with Chopper's help. One scene showed the Ghost descending toward the Yavin 4 base, similar to what happened in the original 1977 "Star Wars" and the recent "Rogue One" prequel. In addition, a starship appeared to blast through the space station with the use of its hyperdrive.

Aside from the show's trailer and cancellation, further details about the season 4 storyline were revealed. Filoni confirmed that Hera will be promoted to General before the series concludes. Even though he did not want to disclose anything about Darth Vader's return, the executive producer did offer a bit of information about Thrawn. He hinted that the Imperial military commander will be back to bring more trouble. "He's operating from a position of victory... total control," Filoni said.

Meanwhile, fans can expect some development in Ahsoka's character this coming season. It is a prediction based not on what Filoni said, but on what he was wearing during the panel. The audience noticed that Filoni sported a graphic shirt that said "Ahsoka Lives?" but by the end of the panel, the question mark turned into an exclamation point. When a fan asked about the switch, Filoni simply said: "I don't know what you're talking about."

"Star Wars Rebels" follows a fallen Jedi named Kanan, an orphaned boy named Ezra and the Ghost crew: pilot Hera, bounty hunter Sabine, mercenary Zeb and surly droid Chopper. Together, they take a stand against the Empire and face different villains. The series will get 15 more episodes next season, which is expected to begin in the fall.

The fourth and final season of "Star Wars Rebels" will premiere in September 2017 on Disney XD.
