With most of the attention directed at "Star Wars: The Force Awakens," it is easy to forget that there is an anthology film in the works. Some important details regarding the film, which is being directed by Gareth Edwards, such as its tone and what fans should expect to see, have been reported by JoBlo.com.

According to the report, the movie is set between Episode III and Episode IV and focuses on a band of rebels uniting to steal the Death Star plans. The Jedi are still in hiding, which means the majority of the film will focus on the conflict between the Empire and the Rebellion.

The report states that the tone of the film will be "darker and grittier" than any past "Star Wars" film. It is also being compared to "Hamburger Hill," a 1987 Vietnam war flick.

Yavin-4, the moon base of the Rebel Alliance during "Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope" will reportedly be featured. According to the report, there will be scenes taking place in this location although it hasn't been confirmed if the rebels have been there for long or if the film will show how this base was initially established.

Also included in the report is the statement that the Stormtroopers will resemble their design from the original trilogy and not the new design shown in "The Force Awakens." AT-AT's, AT-ST's, X-Wings, and Y-Wings will all make an appearance in the film as well.

The film won't just focus on humans either. There will be a lot of alien life forms, including the Mon Calamari. Droids will make an appearance, and the report cites that some new droids will be introduced as well. It is also hinted that one of the droids will be a member of the rebel group.

Felicity Jones, Riz Ahmed, Ben Mendelsohn, Diego Luna, and Sam Claflin have all been confirmed for the cast and the film's score will be handled by composer Alexandre Desplat.

"Star Wars: Rogue One" opens in theaters on Dec. 16, 2016.
