Despite the positive feedback from fans for the teaser trailer for "Rogue One: A Star Wars Story," a report from Page Six reveals that a rough cut of the film was shown to Disney executives and they were not satisfied with the material. To remedy this the studios are reportedly calling for reshoots to take place this July.

The director, Gareth Edwards, is noted for his style of taking risky filmmaking approaches and prefers it when the studios do not interfere all too much in his projects. But the report points out that Disney is not going to ease up on this and is pushing forward with their plans to "fix" the film.

It is also pointed out that expensive reshoots and additional work was always expected given the massive scale and level of anticipation for the film. However, an unnamed Disney source also claims that the reason the studio is not happy is because the rough cut does not fall in line with the expectations coming off the success of "The Force Awakens."

"Coming off 'The Force Awakens,' there's an incredibly high bar for this movie and we have a responsibility to the franchise and to the fans to deliver the best possible movie we can," said the unnamed source. This comes as no surprise to many fans considering how much "The Force Awakens" earned at the box office.

Fans speculate that the movie may be a little too dark and may lack enough scenes with Darth Vader (James Earl Jones) and lightsaber fight sequences. It is possible that these may be incorporated more into the movie when the reshoots take place, particularly more scenes involving Darth Vader.

"Rogue One: A Star Wars Story" takes place prior to the events of the 1977 film "Star Wars" and focuses on the story of the Rebel Alliance stealing the Death Star plans.

"Rogue One: A Star Wars Story" opens in theaters this Dec. 16.
