Rumor has it that "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" will feature a post-credits scene and it will be of the upcoming spin-off "Star Wars: Rogue One." Schmoes Know claims that there will be a teaser and an additional clip from the spin-off, which is scheduled to hit the silver screen next year.

Fans of the intergalactic franchise know that this has never happened in any of the six "Star Wars" movies since the films came out three or more years apart. But as Metro pointed out, this instance is different simply because the following movies after the highly-anticipated seventh "Star Wars" installment will follow intervals of a year or less.

"Star Wars: The Force Awakens" will be released on Dec. 18 this year. "Star Wars: Rogue One" will be screened starting Dec. 16, 2016, which is almost a year after. "Episode VIII" is slated for a May 26, 2017 showing, which is just five months from the film that goes before it.

Metro says that a teaser will likely be there as it won't be very difficult to squeeze one in especially since the movie is still in production. An actual scene from the spin-off, however, is less likely.

The aforesaid publication also guesses that by the end of "Star Wars: The Force Awakens," a very brief piece or clue about "Episode VIII" will be dropped and a teaser for "Rogue One" will be showcased. With this bit of news, fans are likely already planning to stay in their seats even after the credits roll. For now, however, it is still unclear and Disney and Lucasfilm have yet to make it official.

Meanwhile, in other related news, Royal Mail stamps featuring characters from the upcoming J.J. Abrams film were announced and are slated to come out on Oct. 20. Interested buyers can pre-order them now.
