'Star Wars Episode 7' plot spoilers: Will new characters be in search of Luke Skywalker?
"Star Wars: The Force Awakens" is less than three months away from hitting theatres and yet not much is known about the story. But thanks to the constant churning of the rumor mill, fans may finally find clues that will tell them what Luke Skywalker will be up to in the film.
In the past months, it was rumored that the Jedi knight will be absent for the most part of the upcoming movie. Rumors explain this as either Luke having exiled himself or he is on the lookout of an ancient Sith tomb. He also allegedly only appears at the end of the movie.
Interestingly, Movie Pilot claims that new-generation characters Finn, Rey and Poe will be in search of Luke in an attempt to bring back his lightsaber, which fans saw Finn using in the trailers. They will reportedly try to find the galaxy's finest warrior and get him to help save the cosmos under attack by Kylo Ren.
If this is really the case, it will also make sense why the new big bad and his army will be after the group.The lightsaber was once owned and ultimately created by Anakin aka Darth Vader, who happens to be Kylo Ren's ultimate hero.
The only missing bit is how the Jedi weapon lands in the hands of Finn. Nonetheless, media outlets are almost sure that Luke will now become the teacher after being a student to Yoda and Obi-Wan in the past "Star Wars" films.
The last clue about Luke's fate in the film comes from Irish Examiner, which claims that Mark Hamill, who plays the role of the Jedi knight, was spotted in Skellig Michael in Ireland shooting scenes for "Star Wars Episode VIII." It is speculated that he will take on a much more prominent role in the sequel.
"Star Wars: The Force Awakens" hits the silver screen on Dec. 18.
