Director J.J. Abrams has recently served up details about villain Kylo Ren, who will initially cast his shadows on "Star Wars: The Force Awakens." There have been a lot of theories as to what he will be up to but fans believe that his Darth Vader-like getup suggests he is a force to be reckoned with. 

In an interview with Empire Magazine, Abrams spilled the beans about the approaching baddie, silencing some rumors and declaring without hesitation,"Kylo Ren is not a Sith. He works under Supreme Leader Snoke, who is a powerful figure on the Dark Side of the Force." 

Of course, his resemblance to Darth Vader is not an accident. Kylo Ren happens to be a big fan of Darth Vader and what he has done, and so he shows that he lives by the fallen Empire leader's principles by continuing them, complete with the wardrobe choice. 

Meanwhile, Snoke has yet to show his face in the promos for the series but his voice championed the first trailer for "Star Wars: The Force Awakens." The character is portrayed by Andy Serkis and is said to be more CGI, complete with motion-captured movements than an actual person. 

Other bad guys disturbing the force are the First Order. It remains to be seen if Snoke is in any way connected with them but Abrams said that they have something to do with the Empire but one that's non-linear. 

"That all came out of conversations about what would have happened if the Nazis all went to Argentina, but started working together again," the filmmaker suggested. "What could be born of that? Could the First Order exist as a group that actually admired the Empire? Could the work of the Empire be seen as unfulfilled? And could Vader be a martyr? Could there be a need to see through what didn't get done?" 

The answers to all those questions will be revealed once "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" hits theaters on Dec. 18.
