Actor Adam Driver, who plays the conflicted Kylo Ren in the current Star Wars saga, has potentially revealed some major spoilers about one of the biggest mysteries of the series: the identity of the enigmatic Rey, played by Daisy Ridley.

During an interview with GQ, the actor spoke about his character and his rivalry with Rey. He said that character, whose real name is Ben Solo, is only putting on a face that is Kylo Ren.

"I remember the initial conversations about having things 'skinned', peeling away layers to evolve into other people," shared Driver, "and the person Kylo's pretending to be on the outside is not who he is."

He said that he is a vulnerable kid who does not know how to channel his energy, but putting on the mask of Kylo Ren gives him a role to play. "JJ [Abrams] had that idea initially and I think Rian [Johnson] took it to the next level," added Driver.

While the actor may have given hints about how his character is going to turn out, what he said about Rey was much more intriguing. "You have, also, the hidden identity of this princess who's hiding who she really is so she can survive and Kylo Ren and her hiding behind these artifices," he said.

It remains a mystery if Driver was using a figure of speech when he used the term princess, or if he really meant to say that Rey is a princess in the Star Wars universe, just like Leia Organa, who was played by the late Carrie Fisher.

When "The Force Awakens" was released two years ago, it introduced many new mysteries to the saga, including the parentage of Rey. Director Johnson has hinted that the identity of Rey's family would be given new light in the upcoming film, "The Last Jedi."

"The Last Jedi" will open in cinemas on Dec. 15.
