"Stardew Valley" has become a sensational pop hit for PC players when the game launched on the Steam network, and according to a new announcement on the game's website, console players will be able to enjoy the game very soon. However, the announcement does not confirm which consoles the game is set to launch on.

Fans speculate that the game may launch on the PS4 and Xbox One first given that many titles from the Steam network have also been launched on these two platforms. Due to the dwindling market for the Wii U it is undetermined if the game will launch for it or the upcoming Nintendo NX. A port on the 3DS is also likely given that games like "Shovel Knight" successfully launched on the handheld device.

It is confirmed that a port for Linux and Mac are in the works.

A console port is not the only update announced by the developers. As reiterated in a report from Gamespot, PC gamers will receive a new update patch that will introduce co-op multiplayer. The update will also include  language options, but there are no lists of languages that "Stardew Valley" will be available in.

Updates will also include new types of crops, farm buildings, new types of artisan goods and the option for both Shane and Emily to become marriage candidates. Improvements to mining and combat mechanics will also be implemented. The update will also come with a bevy of fixes for bugs and glitches.

Merchandise for the franchise is also being planned, although there are no complete lists yet regarding what types of merchandise will be offered. Fans speculate that these may be shirts, plushies, keychains and more.

ConcernedApe and publisher Chucklefish have not yet announced a release date for the console ports or the upcoming updates but they are expected to launch within the next few months.
