The developer of "Stardew Valley" shoots for the stars, as he teases an upcoming feature in the form of multiplayer and other additions to the award-winning indie game.

Eric "ConcernedApe" Barone, with the help of publisher Chucklefish, are now hard at work in making "Stardew Valley" more socially interactive. Barone recently took to Twitter to post the fun time he had with friends during their four-player local area network (LAN) party in "Stardew Valley," though it is still currently in the testing phase.

Barone also admitted that it still needs work, though he and his friends having fun could be an indication that the mode is nearly finished. Needless to say, Barone and company had a blast playing "Stardew Valley" multiplayer, and the players and fans of the game can expect the same experience, perhaps even better once it has been improved.

"4-player Stardew Valley LAN party at my house... it's really fun. It still needs some work, but the underlying network code is solid. Being in the same room and yelling at each other about what to do next, or if anyone has any stone, is great fun. Can't wait to share this" tweeted Barone. The said post also came with a screenshot which shows a detail never before seen or present in the base game, which are two player houses side-by-side in the in the plot of land given to the player character.

This could be an indication that the multiplayer will allow for at least two houses present, or perhaps even one house for each player, where they will all be able to customize it. Whether the plot of land will also increase in size to accommodate additional players remains to be seen, though it is possible.

In addition to the new multiplayer, Barone will soon be introducing new content to the single-player mode of "Stardew Valley" and has even mentioned that it is actually finished. Thus, he is now shifting his full attention to the multiplayer. No exact release date for the official multiplayer mode for "Stardew Valley" has been announced yet, so fans are advised to stay tuned to Barone's Twitter account.
