Isometric zombie survival game "State of Decay" is coming back in 2018 with "State of Decay 2."

The game was first announced at the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) 2016, but time has passed, and the game is getting ready to see the light of day. Fans of the original are excited to sink their teeth into the upcoming sequel and to see what changes and improvements have been made to the game.

And while the trailer uploaded to Xbox's YouTube channel gives fans a glimpse of what to expect in terms of the game's graphics and plotline, it sheds little light on what can be expected gameplay-wise and doesn't exactly answer most of the questions fans have been wondering about.

Thankfully, popular video game YouTube channel Outside Xbox gives fans more in-depth answers.

According to Outside Xbox, "State of Decay 2" will finally be getting the long-awaited co-op mode that fans have been asking for since the very first game. Now, players will be able to survive the zombie apocalypse alongside their friends and other players. Reportedly, players will also be able to fire flare guns into the air to request aid from other survivors who wish to participate in multiplayer.

Aside from that players will have more freedom in terms of crafting and building and will now have the option to visit tombstones. Good news aside, Outside Xbox, also brought up two new updates that up to the difficulty and make surviving in an already zombie-infested world even more difficult. In "State of Decay 2" survivors have a chance to catch the Blood Plague, which turns survivors into horrible zombies.

Alongside the introduction of the Blood Plague, players will now have the chance to execute non-playable survivors who have become infected, adding to the list of tough moral choices players will have to make.

"State of Decay 2" is going to be a game filled not only with frightening zombie but with frightening decisions as well. What becomes of the survivors will be up to the player.
