Steam is branching out and expanding its PC gamer market, as it will now be adding more accepted currencies on its online game platform.

There will be 11 new currencies from different countries added on Nov. 13. These 11 new currencies are the Argentinian Peso, Costa Rican Colón, Israeli New Shekel, Kazakhstani Tenge, Kuwaiti Dinar, Polish Zloty, Qatari Rial, Ukrainian Hryvnia, Uruguayan Peso, Vietnamese Dong, and South Asian Region US Dollar (USD). People whose countries use any of the mentioned currencies will now be able to purchase games, digital gift cards, steam keys, and other PC utilities offered by Steam.

The Steam website will also show the digital goods' price in their currency instead of the usual USD, making it less confusing for users, though it is not clear which currency exchange rate the website uses. One Steam user has created a third-party currency exchange rate website based on collected data from Steam, and it has so far been praised.

The reports of the newly supported currencies came from Steam analysis group Steam DB where they posted the latest scoop on Twitter. Valve, creator of Steam, has apparently been sending out emails to users in the aforementioned countries informing them that the currency they use is now viable for the market platform.

It also seems that this list of additionally supported currencies is not yet final, and there may be more currencies being added to the list at the time of writing. This is based on a Tom's Hardware report where Steam confirmed that it has plans to give more payment options to its users next week.

With this in mind, Steam may be doing extra measures to remain the most popular online game seller in the PC market right now. This is also in line with how the platform aimed to preserve its integrity when it introduced a way to alleviate the recent review bombing controversy.

The 11 new currencies will be available on Monday, Nov. 13, and players should stay tuned as there may be more currencies in the coming days.
