The season finale of "Steven Universe" is said to be a tearjerker, as Steven will be sacrificing himself to fix the mistakes he has made.

A YouTube video leaked by the user Yvezi initially showed Steven saying, "I'm not my dad." He then tells Aquamarine, the alien he is with, "I'm someone the Diamonds will want more than any of these humans—the leader of the Crystal Gem rebellion, the Gem that shattered Pink Diamond. I'm not my dad. I'm my mom."

Following these words, he flashes his belly button, where his Gem is located, announcing, "I'm Rose Quartz." This pronouncement seems to shock Aquamarine, who gasps at his statement. Steven then continues his monologue, saying that only he has the capacity to stop what "she" has started. He then boards the space ship, despite his friends imploring him to come back. He tells them he loves them before the door closes and the aircraft flies away.

If that is not enough to bring on the waterworks, Korea Portal reports that sources have said that the episode will also show a montage of clips of the show, particularly the good things that happened between Steven and the Crystal Gems.

It can be recalled that Steven's mother, Rose Quartz, protected Earth from her race, who intended to destroy the planet. Given Steven's words, he will take up her cudgels as a way of atoning for the mistakes he made. According to iTechPost, the new season may see Steven come back to the Homeworld to battle Aquamarine and Topaz for Earth, as well as for his family and friends. The Christian Post, meanwhile, theorizes that the new season will see the return of Lars, who last appeared in the episode on May 10.

Titled "I Am My Mom," the season finale airs on May 11, Thursday, at 7 p.m. EDT on Cartoon Network.
