It was bad news all around in the eighth episode of ABC's science fiction crime drama "Stitchers," as the team will show signs of getting infected by a fatal virus.

In "Fire in the Hole," TV Guide reports that a case involving the suicide of a disease researcher will endanger Kirsten (Emma Ishta) and the rest of the gang. It turns out that the scientist was working on a fatal virus before ending her life and that the team is in peril of getting contaminated with it. The whole situation takes a turn for the worse when they begin exhibiting signs of the infection while in quarantine.

Last episode, the team solved a case involving a Jane Doe who was found by hikers on a trail. In the Stitch, Kirsten saw the victim at a pool party, taking a "selfie" of herself and her dog with a magazine showing a house on the cover. Upon investigation, they learned that the place belonged to Joe (Cameron Daddo) and Suzanne Parks (Courtney Henggeler).

Meanwhile, Linus (Ritesh Rajan) got a hit on the victim's dog from Los Angeles animal shelter. Giorgio was chipped and his owner was identified as Brenda "Bentley" Miller (Monica Barbaro). When they went to Bentley's apartment, they saw more photos of expensive homes in the closet and a bag full of jewelries.

It turned out Bentley and another friend, Sadie (Chaley Rose), were involved in a series of robberies in the area. Upon investigation, Sadie admitted that the two of them broke into the Parks' house and was partying when Joe suddenly came home with another woman. Bentley, who was in the bedroom, hid in the closet and took a video of them.

In the next Stitch, Kirsten saw the victim walking her dog when someone drove up, grabbed her, and shoved her off the edge. The team all thought that Joe was the killer and he was brought in.

Linus, who wanted to adopt Giorgio, got a text telling him his petition was rejected because the dog hates men. Kirsten then had an epiphany, remembering that Giorgio was not barking at Bentley's attacker, which means the killer was a woman. They realized that it was Suzanne who was the one having an affair and Bentley blackmailed her. She tried to bribe them but soon found out she could not.

Meanwhile, ABC Family has renewed "Stitchers" for a second season. Deadline reports that the show received a 0.5 rating on its series premiere last June 2, with a total of 1.28 million viewers.

"Stitchers" airs Tuesday at 9 p.m. EST on ABC Family.
