Netflix horror series "Stranger Things" took the world by storm when its first season was released two years ago. With the second season coming out during Halloween, the series is finally renewed for a season 3.

The exciting news was made by Netflix on Friday via their official Twitter account after a teaser poll asking followers if the network should renew the season. After an overwhelming 87 percent voted yes, the account then confirmed the renewal of the popular sci-fi series.

Unfortunately, nothing else was said about the series. However, for now, this news would suffice to keep fans looking forward to their new season. That said, with the new season out in possibly a year or so, fans cannot help but make out what season 3 could be about and when it would be released.

If fans will base it on how long it took for season 2 to come out, season 3 would possibly take the same amount of time. Season 2 came out 15 months after the first season. "I just remember we just had a meeting with Netflix and we were just doing the math of how long it took to make season one and how long it would take to get season two out," said Ross Duffer, one of the creators of the series, in an interview, as per Express.co.uk.

He continued to explain that they definitely wanted it out as soon as possible maybe even less than a year. Obviously, they did not make it, but they did it just in time for Halloween. Assuming that it may take another 15 months, season 3 may come out late next year or early 2019, with the latter being more probable.

With its continued success, it would not be much of a surprise if it gets another renewal after season 3 for a season 4. However, Ross mentioned that season 4 may be their last season. "We're thinking it will be a four-season thing and then out," says Ross. "We just have to keep adjusting the story. Though I don't know if we can justify something bad happening to them once a year."
